The potential for fire on one's woodlot is something that has to be given very serious consideration.  Not only are there risks to the woodlot itself but also to personal property and even personal safety.  In order to address these issues the Fire Smart Canada program has been developed to help woodlot owners assess the risks and take actions that will mitigate those risks.  A number of different manuals and other aids may be found on the Fire Smart web site.
